In Rome there is an open-air museum open to everyone, tourists and citizens, to rediscover the city and its suburbs. Off the beaten path of traditional tours, immersed in the neighborhoods where people live, there are more than 300 artworks by internationally renowned artists who embellish the walls of an unusual and contemporary Rome.<\/p>\n

OSTIENSE DISTRICT<\/h6>\n

\"\"Street Art district<\/em>
\nThe Ostiense District offers the highest concentration of street paintings in Rome, not far from its archaeological and historical sights of Saint Paul\u2019s Basilica, Centrale Montemartini Museum and the Pyramid. <\/p>\n

The district was formerly an industrial area, as the famous gasometer is still indicating, and it holds various artistic languages with artworks by Momo, Sten and Lex, Carlos Atoche, Herbert Baglione, Agostino Iacurci and the famous Blu, just to name a few. <\/p>\n

In addition, the largest green mural in Europe, Hunting Pollution by Iena Cruz, has just been inaugurated: a wall made of eco-friendly paint able to purify the air.<\/p>\n

TOR MARANCIA<\/h6>\n

\nTor Marancia was a Roma\u2019s forgotten suburban district condemned to immobility. Eight decades on has seen the area transformed radically and now even more so with eleven post war buildings being made into monumental murals.<\/p>\n

\u201cBig City Life\u201d is a public art project for urban regeneration, cultural and social development curated by 999contemporary.
\nThe Big City Life project collaborated with the local community and twenty local and international street artists to beautify and culturally enrich the Tor Marancia district of Rome in forty-three days.<\/p>\n
