The Colonna family<\/em><\/p>\n A special visit will open the doors of Galleria Colonna, an authentic jewel of the Roman Baroque commissioned in the mid-1600\u2019s by Cardinal Girolamo I Colonna and the grandson Lorenzo Onofrio Colonna. Here in the center of Rome, time seems to stop. Luxury and marvel take the visitors to old times. Inaugurated by the son of Lorenzo Onofrio, Filippo II, in the year 1700, in addition to housing a valuable collection of paintings and a sumptuous interior decoration, is the only accessible part of the family palace that gave birth to pope Martin V. The splendid frescoes and the collection of paintings from the 16th century to the 18th century, make this place a rare example of artistic and historical continuity hidden in the center of Rome.<\/p>\n Explore the Gallery, the exhibition space in the heart of Palazzo Doria Pamphilj.
